We generate this data by vastly increasing the throughput of test. We miniaturize the unit of test in biology, the “test tube” into a picoliter volume microreactor. Through miniaturization, we can evaluate 10Ms microbes for high-volume protein production in a single day. We then index and sequence the top 0.1%, building vast data sets of phenotypically labeled genomes.
